The months of October to March are the best time to visit Port Blair or Andaman Island for tourists. The time is also perfect for bird watching at Chiriya Tapu. March to May are summer months when the weather is hot and dry. Port Blair is well connected by both air and sea with flights travelling daily from Chennai, Kolkata, Vishakapatnam, New Delhi and Hyderabad. All flights bound to Andaman and Nicobar Islands land at the Veer Savarkar International Airport and it takes roughly two hours to reach the destination. Andaman is connected to Kolkata, Chennai, and Vishakhapatnam by sea which takes approximately 3 to 4 days.
