Throughout the year Zero point or Yumesamdong in Sikkim remains covered with snow and if you love snow, it is the ideal place to explore for tourists. It is approximately 23kms from Yumthang at an altitude of over 15,000 ft and takes another 1.5 hours from Yumthang by vehicle. Anybody travelling to Yumthang must include Zero point in their itinerary (although it depends upon the permit availability) to witness the exotic splendour of this place. You get marvellous scenic views with some stretches of grassy land which becomes visible when the snow melts. There is also a hot spring in Yumesamdong at the river called Sebu chhu. Donkia-La pass is also located here (at an altitude of 18,400ft which connects Lachung Valley with Lachen Valley). However you cannot access the pass as there are certain restrictions due to close proximity with the Tibetan Autonomous Region of People’s Republic of China.
