Uttarey

Aptly located at the Indo Nepal Border in the extreme West District of Sikkim, Uttarey is a tiny village famous for its gracefulness and subtly beauty situated at an altitude of about 6600ft. A living paradise for nature and adventure lovers, providing peaceful relaxation for family and friends. Uttarey is the last village of West Sikkim, with only a few kms trek. You have to first reach Rinchenpong and that same road will take you to Uttarey via Bermiok, Hee and Dentam. There are many tourist spots in and around the place along with the beautiful view of the great Mt. Kanchenjunga covered with snow allowing heavenly experience. While scheduling a vacation in the hills of West Sikkim you can easily merge and keep a day or two for Uttarey. From NJP its around 150 kms, while from Gangtok, Ravangla,  Pelling,  Dentam its around 140kms, 70kms, 30 and 10kms respectively. 

Pemayangtshe, Rabdengtrshe, Pelling, Khangchendzopnga Waterfalls, Chhangey Twin Falls, Alpine Cheese Industries, Srijanga Mangheeem, Chhanyatal, Rock Garden, Phangdorgee Fall etc are some of the sightseeing spots which can be comfortably covered by a one day travel with a car. You can also indulge in Hiking, Jungle Safari, Yak Safari, Bird Watching, Nature – camp. Uttarey along with its surrounding areas like Hee, has several small resorts, lodges and homestays.
