The Maha Kumbh 2025 would enable Uttar Pradesh to showcase its tourism potential!!

Uttar Pradesh is preparing for the Maha Kumbh Mela in 2025, one of the world's largest religious gatherings, which is expected to attract over 400 million tourists. To improve the event's global appeal, the state government is implementing a comprehensive marketing strategy that includes roadshows in significant cities as well as other countries such as the Netherlands, Thailand, and Mauritius. The government intends to emphasize the Kumbh's cultural, spiritual, and economic significance, with a focus on "Brand UP."

The Uttar Pradesh government will also reveal a "Digital Kumbh Museum" to celebrate India's rich cultural past as well as the Kumbh's mythical and historical significance. This project will help traditional marketing methods as well as social media activities to attract both domestic and international visitors.

Massive infrastructure projects are already underway in Prayagraj, including the creation of a 4,000-hectare tent city that will shelter a substantial portion of the tourists. Modern amenities will be constructed across the city, including 25,000 public hotels, 67,000 streetlights, and a security network with over 23,000 CCTV cameras. Furthermore, it is believed that the Ganga Expressway, which will facilitate access to the Mela, will be completed before the event.
Investments in the tourism industry are also increasing rapidly; by 2028, Uttar Pradesh's tourism industry aims to have a gross value added (GVA) of Rs 70,000 crore. This is due to an upsurge in religious tourism following the completion of major construction projects such as the Kashi Vishwanath Dham in Varanasi and the Lord Ram temple in Ayodhya.

Uttar Pradesh is poised to play a big part in the global tourism industry, as ecotourism, medical tourism, and rural tourism all grow in popularity. The state's efforts to develop its tourism infrastructure are expected to have a substantial impact on the local economy as well as other sectors such as hospitality, MSMEs, and transportation.
