Details of the Amrit Bharat Station Programme

The Amrit Bharat Station Scheme aims to gradually refurbish stations across India. The plan includes improvements to stations such as increased access, nicer waiting areas, refurbished facilities, and the installation of escalators and elevators. Passengers will also benefit from enhanced amenities like as complimentary Wi-Fi, business conference rooms, executive lounges, kiosks promoting regional goods under the "One Station, One Product" concept, and sophisticated passenger information systems.

An eco-friendly initiative.
One of the scheme's most notable elements is its emphasis on sustainability, which includes ideas for enhanced landscaping and station connection with both sides of the city. Providing facilities for Divyangjans (those with disabilities) and implementing environmentally friendly policies are also important aspects of the development. The use of cutting-edge infrastructure elements such as ballastless tracks underscores the project's progressive nature.

Thousands of stations were selected.
Uttar Pradesh currently hosts 157 of the 1,337 stations earmarked for rehabilitation under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.
For fiscal year 2024-2025, the state has allocated ?5,930 crores to five railway zones: Northern Railway, North Central Railway, North Eastern Railway, East Central Railway, and West Central Railway. These funds will go toward infrastructure development, maintenance, and improvement activities that will improve the overall station experience and passenger amenities.

The Amrit Bharat Station Scheme increases millions of travelers' comfort by transforming India's railway stations into cutting-edge, inclusive, and effective transportation hubs.
