Telengana plans 27 tourism clusters.

Hyderabad : The government of Telengana came up with 27 tourism clusters across the state, each cluster with two or three close by tourist destinations. Featuring enhancement of  the road network, transport facilities, resorts and better sanitation. The government in the budget 2025, has allocated Rs. 775 crore for tourism department.

Examples of a few clusters are Warangal Fort, adjacent temples, Pakhal Lake, Gudura wildlife sanctuary, Kadem, Kawal tiger reserve, Saptha Gundala waterfalls, Jodeghat, Utnoor, Ushegaon and Kaleshpur and the Kagaznagar Tiger Landscape.

The state also offers to developing the Nallamala forest into a tourist site with Rs. 242 crore, to constructing  more safari routes, boating and wellness centers. " International consultants will be invited through a tender process to create a comprehensive master plan for specific tourist clusters. Public private partnership of such clusters would identify locations suitable for essential infrastructure development. This plan comprises hotels and resorts, transportation networks including roads, besides other tourist convenience to enrich visitor experience, "said N. Prakash Reddy, MD, TGTDC.

Telangana with fresh tourism policy, aims to push the development of tourism in the state and mark it as a tourist destination. Under the new policy, the target is to raise tourism's contribution to G.S.D.P to 10%, attract investments worth 15,000 crores and create 3 lakh job opportunities. The government plans to target 10 crore domestic tourists and 5 lakh foreign tourists by 2030, making Telangana a focal point of tourism and economy development. The state also plans to upgrade the infrastructure surrounding Rajiv Gandhi International airport for better accessibility and tourism potential. To promote river tourism the government will be investing in the construction of jetties, launch stations, water sports activities, houseboats and river festival on the rivers Godavari and Krishna.

The government is also offering a land-use converting incentives and provide a financial incentives for tourism investments to encourage private sector participation and improve tourism development.
