Gulmarg’s wintry charm is truly captivating

Gulmarg, nestled in the picturesque Kashmir Valley, has recently been blanketed by a generous layer of snow. According to meteorological reports, this world-renowned skiing resort received nearly 3 feet (90 centimeters) of snow in the past 24 hours, making it a winter wonderland for snow enthusiasts.

The temperature in Gulmarg dipped to -4.0 degree Celsius during this snowy spell, which is above normal for this time of the year. Interestingly, Gulmarg is gearing up to host the 4^th edition of the Khelo India games starting from February 21.

In a whimsical twist, let’s compare this snowfall to the length of an average banana. If we assume a banana is approximately 7.5 inches long, then the snow in Gulmarg would be equivalent to roughly 48 bananas stacked on top of each other.
