Darjeeling Tourism

Darjeeling is a small town in the state of West Bengal, India. It is the terminus of the narrow- gauge Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, or “Toy Train,” completed in 1881. This town’s landscape is marked with tea plantation with the backdrop of Mt. Kanchenjunga. Darjeeling is also known as the “Queen of the hills”. This scenic hill station is the perfect getaway for a peaceful weekend in the mountains. Darjeeling stands at the height of 2,050 meters above sea level, thus boasting a cool climate all year round.

If you want to be lured by the astonishing Kanchenjunga overlooking the town, beautiful tea gardens on the slopes and toy train whistling its way through the mountains or if you wish to witness the mixed culture of India and Tibet, Darjeeling is the perfect destination for you.

You can reach Darjeeling from Siliguri by two modes, you may take the taxi or bus to reach your destination in 3 hours or take the toy train to enjoy the scenic view all the way up and reach your destination in 7 hours. Sikkim on the other hand is just four-hour drive from here.

Darjeeling is world famous for its tea plantation and tea leaf production. The best time to visit this place is from April to June and from October to December.
