Chiang Mai Overall Experience into wild Elephant camp:

Posted by MarinetoAlpine on Thursday, 2nd January 2025.
There are many elephant sanctuaries around the jungles of Chiang Mai and with no trouble one of the most memorable things you'd ever get to do in Chinag Mai. However, it's up to us travelers to make sure that we choose the most righteous one.

Ethical issue were the indicators that were of most concern , when searching for an elelphant santuary that would suit visit to Thailand.
From all those places the wild elephant camp was rather unique in the way that they actually take care of the elephants they rescued being so close to one of those gentle gaints is fantastic experience one which one wants to part feeling happy after.

Chosen type of accommodation in Chiang Mai:
English speaking guide.
Lunch.
Drinking Water.
Insurance.
Taking pictures in the emitting to the client the pictures taken.
Feeding elephant.
Spend 6 hours in the camp where elephants are found.
Swimsuit.
Towel.
Change of clothes.
Footwear specially fo the jungle trail.
sunscream.
inspect repellant.

Unfortunately these elephants were then trained to perform odd circus tricks such as begging right up to being used to give people rides. There are many organisations out there that have improve the physical and real relationship with elephants and because of this many sanctuaries have stopped these wrong practices and are informing their tourists more on elephants and how they should be treated.

Review into the wild elephant camp:
The day before the trip they said it will be around 8:30/09 am, so tourists are waiting in the hotel lobby. Midway and until the wild elephant camp so they went to a local market where there was toilet, coffee and bought some breakfast. These elephants were then trained to perform odd circus tricks such as begging right up to being used to give people rides. There are many organisations out there that have improve the physical and real relationship with elephants and because of this many sanctuaries have stopped these wrong practices and are informing their tourists more on elephants and how they should be treated.

Feeding the elphants was rather entertaining interesting:
Some of the elephants only grabbed one banana while others picked 5 or 6 and stuffed them in their mouths and the guides and mahouts were there making sure that each elephant was given enough banana's to eat.
That was good to see the elephants roam around the park as they wished to the perform based on to their natural insticts; the mahouts followed them barely interfering with them at no point. Tourists see them steering the elephant in any way or make it perform any act it didn't seem to want to perform.
Some of the dogs are also in this camp are rescue dogs who gave birth to some puppies they were very playful and very entertaining.

Vitamin ball making:
The camp feeds the elephants a daily vitamins so they will be in position help maintain their health, digestion and hydreation.
Bathing an elephant is often an activity offered in elephant tourism, as for the skin washing is an natural process too in the wild elephants will swim in mud or in rivers to clean their skin which aods the body to stay healthy driving away ticks and other parasites which may effect the elephants.
That was interesting to see the larger female and her calf then he was eating and playing with water and she was playing with her trunk and her face.

Final Thoughts:
They do truly care about them and the elephants are allowed to be with the guests as much, or as little as they wish. It's not wrong to visit an elephant sanctuary, if you go to the right one then the money is going to a good cause. It will be the great day at into Wild Elephant Camp but it would always advise that if traveling to an elephant sanctuary you should do your homework then arrive at the sanctuary confident.
