Malaysia is a place of contradictions from high rising buildings to dense jungles, bustling markets and clean beaches and the marine environment varies no dissimilar. The east coast of Penisular Malaysia offers easygoing tempting tropical attractions, although Malaysian Borneo also called Spidan, vow breathtaking and dramatic diving with some major ocean encounters. Diving in Malaysia can broadly be divided into Penisular Malaysia and Malaysian Borneo. Redang Island

Tenggol Island
A set of small rocky Islands and outcrops, the main Island of Tenggol remains one of the less visited Malaysian Island. This peacful hideaway hosts some huge and impressive coral heads in pristine condition, and some of the most unterrible reef in the region.While there may not be the same numbers of fish seen at Sipadan, the Marine life here is probably the best in Peninsular Malaysia. A wide array of dive sites and topography means that diving is suitable for everyone from stater to trained divers. A collaboration of shallow reef, deeper rocky sites that offer tunnels and swim throughs, plentiful macro, and some superb drift diving make an excellent dive destination.

Perhentian Island
These tropical Island is paradise and boast some of the best beaches in Malaysia. There is a wide range of lodging from upscale resorts to beach huts. The marine life around the Island is rich and diverse. Twenty diving sites are scattered around the small archipelago, easily accessed by speedboat offering relaxed, mellow diving suitable for all levels. Expected to spot some variety of most tropical reef fishes, many pelagic species, some turtles and reef sharks.

Tioman Island
Tioman is the third largest Island in Malaysia, although it remains mostly undeveloped. Its exciting  granite formations are the setting for a rich and healthy coral ecosystem within the protected confines of the Marine Park, and the coastline is dotted with more than a few small wrecks. Hard and soft corals and sea fans attracted by a variety of reef fish and some are interested in macro, masses of nudibranchs and crustaceans. While turtles can be found in appreciable numbers, it is rare to see reef sharks, however once in a while visitors can spot a whitetip, blacktip and coral catshark.

Lang Tengah Island
Sandwiched between larger Redang and Perhentian resort Island, Lang Tengah is more untouched by tourism, offering quiter clean sites in calm circle. This Island is small in size boasts 12 diving spots belonging to various depths, found at a range of 23-85ft (7-26m) below the water. This would include, standard array of vibrant tropical fish, a great possibility of spotting turtles, leopard sharks and schools of jack and barracuda.

Langkawi Island
Langkawi is the most touristy Island in Malaysia's west coast, no diving sites can be found there. The Island serves as a great base or surrounding Palau payar Marine Park. The Island is operated by several dive operators who organize day trips to some of the best diving spots along the west coast up to 18 miles (30km) from the Island. This sites, however do not come near those at the east coast islands. Still the shallow reefs strung with soft corals, minimum currents and abudance of marine life which make it possible to Langkawi diving.
